Creating and Managing Payer Alerts
Payer Alerts function like internal digital sticky notes. They are a powerful way to track claims, notice payer trends, and relay critical insurance information across your entire organization. There are two distinct ways to create these alerts: from scratch or directly from a member's file.
Method 1: Creating an Alert from a Blank TemplateUse this method if you want to create a general alert from scratch without tying it to a specific file first.
- Locate the navigation menu on the left-hand side of your screen.
- Click on the Payer Alerts tab.
- Here, you can view all current, existing alerts within your organization.
- Click to create a new alert from a blank template and fill out the required payer details.
Use this method if you are already looking at a patient's file and want to use their data to auto-populate the alert, saving you some typing.
- Go to your Verification List.
- Click on the name of the member whose information you want to pull.
- In the top section, click on the More dropdown menu.
- Select Create Alert.
- The system will automatically pre-fill the alert using the data from that existing verification.
Pro-Tip: If the auto-populated information is too specific to that exact patient, simply click the X next to any data point to remove it. This keeps the alert broad enough to apply to the wider payer rules.
Finalizing and SavingOnce your alert details are set, click Save. Your new Payer Alert will immediately populate as a colorful banner on the existing verification file you pulled it from. Even better, it will automatically attach itself to all future verifications that match that same formatting.
